Outdoor Activity Risk
Whitewater paddling and related activities involve inherent risks, including injury, drowning, property loss, changing river conditions, weather, obstacles, access restrictions, and emergency response delays.
Information Only
River People provides planning, community, logging, gauge, weather, dam-release, hazard, map, route, offline, rating, curated river and section reference, and event information for convenience. Conditions can change quickly and may be incomplete, delayed, stale, or inaccurate. You are responsible for checking official sources, evaluating conditions, and making your own decisions.
Your Responsibility
You agree to paddle within your ability, use appropriate equipment, follow applicable laws and access rules, obtain permission where needed, and decide whether a river, event, meetup, hazard report, or route is safe for you.
No Professional Advice
The app does not provide rescue, medical, legal, professional guide, trip leader, access-permission, or emergency services. Do not use the app as a substitute for emergency communication, professional instruction, local knowledge, or official river, weather, release, road, park, permit, or access information.
Alerts and Offline Data
Notifications, runnable-status labels, level alerts, dam-release alerts, hazard alerts, badges, and offline packs are convenience features only. Delivery may fail, arrive late, duplicate, or reflect cached information. You are responsible for refreshing data and confirming conditions before relying on it.
User Content and Conduct
You are responsible for posts, comments, messages, photos, videos, run logs, GPS tracks, ratings, votes, hazard reports, event details, organization information, data-curation edits, reports, block actions, and other content or actions you submit. Do not post illegal, infringing, abusive, harassing, hateful, misleading, unsafe, or privacy-violating content.
Content License
You keep ownership of content you submit, but you grant BentzTech LLC and River People a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and format that content as needed to operate, improve, moderate, and promote the app. Your privacy selections control in-app visibility where the app offers visibility controls.
Community, Events, and Organizations
You are responsible for interactions, meetups, trips, events, invitations, direct or group messages, and organization activity you arrange through the app. River People does not verify every person, organization, guide qualification, event, access claim, permission, route, hazard, or rating.
Blocking and Visibility
Blocking users or organizations is a user-control feature that may remove crew or follow relationships and reduce what you see or what appears in your feed. Blocking does not guarantee that all public content, safety information, mentions, cached content, or previously shared information will be hidden from every surface.
Moderation
We may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or audit content, reports, messages, organization claims, curator edits, block records, and account activity when needed to operate the app, enforce this agreement, protect users, respond to legal requests, investigate misuse, or address safety and security concerns.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, BentzTech LLC and River People are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for personal injury, death, property loss, lost data, lost profits, or losses arising from use of the app, user content, third-party information, river conditions, or participation in paddling activities.
Agreement Updates
We may update this agreement. Continued use after notice or acceptance of a new version means you agree to the updated terms.
